Misinformation
[edit]@Kwvbna: Can you please clarify what you mean by this edit summary? How is the content you removed "misinformation" and "wrongly sourced". I don't know much about the subject matter, but the three sources cited in support of the content you removed do seem to support the content in question. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:51, 30 July 2025 (UTC)
- For one, the original statement was not factual. When I looked for the referenced article they used, the article no longer existed.
- I made an error taking this specific part out: And the site had experienced a fire 10 months before. That shouldn't have been out. It was the preceding information that The Or Foundation had made a specific statement, that I realized didn't exist anywhere else and the citation also led to a broken link. 154.160.17.238 (talk) 10:54, 30 July 2025 (UTC)
- If the IP who responded is Kwvbna, you might want to take a look at WP:LOGGEDOUT and log in to your account when posting because your IP address is visible when you don't log in. As for the fact that a source
no longer existed
, that often happens on Wikipedia; however, it neither means (1) the information cited is misinformation/no longer relevant, nor (2) the source itself isn't reliable/without value. Cited content isn't automatically removed just because the cited source is a WP:DEADREF; in many cases, an archived version of the source can be found, and in this case an archived version of the source was found here. The source states the following: "Then, in December 2020, a section of Kantamanto market was intentionally set on fire by real estate developers seeking valuable land, according to an investigation by The OR Foundation." The cited source also includes a link to this report by the OR Foundation. So, if your only concern was that you couldn't verify the content in question because the link provided for the source was a dead link, then that's not misinformation per se and is something that can often be fixed. If, on the other hand, you have other concerns about the content in question, please clarify. -- Marchjuly (talk) 12:43, 30 July 2025 (UTC)
