Actually the first KCO was held at Hillcrest Country Club, in 1938. As for the other dates in which the tournament was held at Hillcrest, I can not verify. I suppose what information you have is correct. (Comment moved from article page Tewapack (talk) 19:15, 13 August 2014 (UTC)).Reply

As noted above, there were earlier PGA tournaments played in Kansas City. Here is a link to the 1946 Kansas City Invitational won by amateur Frank Stranahan.
