Add Historical Info on Kamboja Rajputization
[edit]Correct citation
[edit]Emmerick, R. E. (1983). "Buddhism among Iranians". In Yarshater, Ehsan (ed.). The Cambridge History of Iran. Vol. 3(2): The Seleucid, Parthian and Sasanian Periods. Cambridge: Cambridge University Press. pp. 949–964. ISBN 0-521-24693-8. It's actually "Buddhism among Iranian Peoples". Someone needs to fix this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ricardolindo2 (talk • contribs) 21:10, 18 November 2025 (UTC)
Why is Kambojas listed as Iranian?
[edit]As far as I am concerned, the identity of Kambojas and the language is unknown. The Kambojans could very well be Nuristani or Iranic. The language of Kambojas should be unclassifed within the Indo-Iranian branch of the Indo-European family. IndianHistorianMan647582 (talk) 20:17, 11 January 2026 (UTC)
- According to article Kamadhenu we can see their origin of Kambojas, So it will be wrong to say them iranian, as they also had a Mahajanpad, which was in now presents Afganistan and Pakistan. ~2026-28069-20 (talk) 01:47, 10 May 2026 (UTC)
- Just cause they are mentioned in the Mahajanapadas that doesn't mean they cannot be Iranian. The Kambojas is attested very early in the Samavedas. Theoretically they could be Iranic, Nuristani or a potential fourth branch (if the language discovered has a lot of deviation or divergence). IndianHistorianMan647582 (talk) 21:29, 10 May 2026 (UTC)
