How do these relate to stratum corneum tryptic enzymes

Is Kallikrein a new name for them, or a superset or subset of the stratum corneum tryptic enzymes (eg as mentioned in Rosacea#Cathelicidins) ? -

Just a heads up, it appears that the numbering of the kallikrein family is kind of a mess and has changed over time (KLKB1 used to KLK3, KLK3 was sometimes called KLKA2, KLK12 was Kallikrein-like 5 aka KLKL5), so when dealing with older references, make sure you can confirm which Kallikrein they’re talking about. I suspect some of this chaos has led to erroneous claims in the article.

For example, the reference for the kallikreins involved in kininogen cleavage mentions in an offhand comment that there are two known proteins involved, which it calls KLK1 and KLK2, but I suspect this was supposed to be KLK1 and KLK1B. I don’t have full access to the review it cites, but it seems to be using an older numbering system, so I think the wires might have gotten crossed somewhere. Ok, based on (https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1155/2015/946572) it looks like a lot of the chaos was name collision of the human genes with the earlier discovered rodent homologues. This 2015 review says “besides plasma kallikrein, only KLK1 has the ability to cleave kininogen (in this case, low molecular weight kininogen) to release kinin.” I don’t know how much I trust the strength of that claim, but I can’t find any good evidence that KLK2 (PSA activating?) or KLK12 (involved in keratinization?) can do it like the current article claims, so I’m going to remove those claims. Some confusion might be coming from the uniprot descriptions, which have some generic claims about the function of kallikreins as a whole, which may not apply to all members of the family.
