KSTM The Storm ─ 1981-1987, Arizona

[edit]

Unrelated to the Iowa radio station in this article, back in the 1980's, KSTM was a local FM radio station in Apache Junction, Arizona near the base of the Superstition Mountains. In its early days, its signal reached the city limits on a car radio some 2 1/2 miles from the transmitter and broadcast tower at the Grand Hotel in downtown Apache Junction, across the street from the Bashas' supermarket.

In its last years it moved its signal to a mountaintop west of town with greater coverage into Phoenix, definitely across Mesa and Apache Junction.

Here is an article about this incarnation as KSTM The Storm.
