"Huntrix" vs. "Huntr/x"
Is there a specific reason why this article uses "Huntr/x" instead of "Huntrix"? I think "Huntrix" would be better for the article's accessibility: "Huntr/x" is more likely to confuse screen readers as to how to pronounce the name. Also, many other articles about musicians or musical groups with stylized typography for their names use the pronunciation spelling and then indicate the stylized name in parentheses:
- Pink (singer):
Pink (stylized as P!NK)
- Blackpink:
Blackpink (...stylized in all caps or as BLΛƆKPIИK)
This conforms with MOS:TMSTYLE:
Indicating stylizationsIn the article about a trademark, give the version that follows the usual rules of spelling and punctuation, boldfaced in the lead sentence. Follow this with a note, such as "(stylized as ...)" or "(stylised as ...)", depending on the article's variety of English, with the stylization if one exists and is significantly different. It should also be in bold, and may include simple styling, like capitalization changes, decorative characters, or superscripting (but not colorization, attempts to emulate font choices, or other elaborate effects). Then resume using the normal English spelling for the remainder of the article. In other articles that mention the subject, use only the normal English spelling, not the stylization.
"Huntrix" may be a real-world trademark or merely a fictional one, but either way I think this convention should be followed.
Also, "Huntrix" is used in the official subtitles on Netflix. Qzekrom (she/her • talk) 03:27, 14 November 2025 (UTC)
- It is similar to K/DA or AC/DC (ie. those articles maintain the slash when referring to the respective bands). Sometimes bands have names that will be difficult for screen readers (ex: Chvrches which maintains that spelling throughout the article even though it is pronounced "Churches"). I will also flag that the alt text for the infobox image does use "Huntrix" for screen readers & there's a footnote next to the first use of "Huntr/x" which explains the pronunciation. Sariel Xilo (talk) 03:56, 14 November 2025 (UTC)
- I agree with Sariel Xilo that the situation is more comparable to K/DA or AC/DC. Spellings like "Huntrix" are phonetic transcriptions (in the same way that "Kay Dee Ay" or "Churches" are the phonetic transcriptions of K/DA & Chvrches), not unstylizations, and are treated as such by the sources. (The use of "Huntrix" in the Netflix subtitles is specifically for that phonetic purpose, with all other Netflix material using the proper "Huntr/x" spelling.) — Jamie Eilat (talk) 04:31, 14 November 2025 (UTC)
- Plus Huntr/x is already the unstylized form of HUNTR/X (per MOS:ALLCAPS), rather than the '/' necessarily being a stylized 'i'. — Jamie Eilat (talk) 14:46, 14 November 2025 (UTC)
- The slash in K/DA and AC/DC are not there to represent a letter but as a actual separator between the parts of the name. The slash in "Huntr/x" is specifically meant to replace the "i" in "Huntrix" and look cool. This 100% falls into the "assist with screenreaders" arena like we do with Pink or Kesha. Masem (t) 14:29, 14 November 2025 (UTC)
- Personally, I would support using Huntrix, rather than Huntr/x, with a note along the lines of what @Qzekrom is suggesting, saying something like "Huntrix (...stylized in all caps as HUNTR/X or as Huntr/x)". Having the article in such a way that assists with screenreaders is something we should do, not make it harder. That's the bare minimum of what we can do. Historyday01 (talk) 15:51, 14 November 2025 (UTC)
- @Masem: Good point – unlike in "Huntr/x", the slashes in K/DA and AC/DC are not pronounced. Qzekrom (she/her • talk) 16:27, 14 November 2025 (UTC)
- Rather than the '/' being pronounced, it seems instead that the pronunciation of "Huntr/x" is coming from the name of the letter 'X' being used for pronunciation; hence why "Huntrex" has also been used of as a phonetic transcription for "Huntr/x" in certain cases, in addition to the "Huntrix" transcription. So it would indeed be like with K/DA & AC/DC. — Jamie Eilat (talk) 16:49, 14 November 2025 (UTC)
- None of the imagery shown in the film suggests this. the slash is replacing the "i" in a stylized way. If the slash was like ACDC then the pronounciation would be "Hunt-er-exx" not "Hunt-er-rex" as it is commonly heard. And numerous RSes use "Huntrix" in refering to the band. Masem (t) 18:34, 14 November 2025 (UTC)
- I agree. We should just use "Huntrix" in the article. By the way, we should also move the Draft:Huntr/x page to Draft:Huntrix, as well, to be consistent. I keep that page on a watchlist along with others. Historyday01 (talk) 12:58, 18 November 2025 (UTC)

- Definitely support changing it to 'Huntrix', though I know this isn't an RfC. The way I see it, we don't write Eminem's name as 'EMINƎM', though writing it like that is possible. It should be the same here, that though 'Huntr/x' is possible to write, we don't use that stylisation for accessibility and, really, encyclopedic purposes. Newbzy (talk) 09:18, 18 November 2025 (UTC)
- Completely agree. Writing it as Huntrix (the characters say it this way multiple times through the film), rather than Huntr/x serves encyclopedic and accessibility purposes. If you search on Google Scholar, it's almost evenly divided between using either one (there really aren't that many articles about the band on there, probably less than 30 in all), while Billboard, Polygon, Collider, CBR, People Magazine, Salt Lake Tribune (also uses "Huntrix" once), Vulture, BBC, and LA Times, Salon (uses "Huntr/x" a few times, but uses "Huntrix" four times), and an article entitled "KPop Demon Hunters: Cultural Representation in Contemporary Korean Animation, use "Huntr/x"
- On the other hand, Gizmodo, The Hollywood Reporter, Korea Herald, Zalora Philippines, Manila Standard, The Gamer, New York Times, The Atlantic, Screenrant, National Audubon Society (this is about the bird in the film), Samsung, Korea Economic Daily, The Economist, CBR, Uproxx (also uses "Huntr/x" but only once), Out Magazine, The Straits Times, Asia News Network, Billboard Philippines, and an article entitled "Sexy K-pop demons, a human lie detector and shearers on strike: what to watch in July" use "Huntrix".
- Netflix's Tudum seems to be consistent in using "Huntr/x" as shown here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here, in-line with the official merch store run by Netflix. However, official video postings by Netflix on YouTube here, here, here, here, here, and here, use the name "Huntrix" (I also remember there was one other official music video/clip which used "Huntr/x" and a few others which talk about Huntrix but never use either name).
- I hope this helps. There's probably more sources, but some of those sites weren't loading for me, so I couldn't include them. Historyday01 (talk) 13:49, 18 November 2025 (UTC)
- I agree that it should be "
Huntrix
" because that's what MOS:TMSTYLE for. 𝙳.𝟷𝟾𝚝𝚑 (𝚃𝚊𝚕𝚔) 13:41, 18 November 2025 (UTC) - I also agree that it should be "Huntrix" in general use. We should definitely say in its first usage that it is stylized as "Huntr/x". This fits MOS:TMSTYLE. Erik (talk | contrib) 14:01, 18 November 2025 (UTC)
- It appears that there is a consensus for using Huntrix. Thanks, 1isall (he/him) (talk | contribs) 00:44, 19 November 2025 (UTC)
- Righto, I've edited the article to make the necessary replacements/updates; if someone reverts it, I ask that they please contribute to this discussion. - Huntr/x is used in official promotional materials such as in their official merchandise store[1]. Huntrix is only used on the subtitles, probably for pronunciation, but everywhere else, even in the movie at some points, Huntr/x is the preferred stylization. ~2025-35354-56 (talk) 15:24, 21 November 2025 (UTC)

- I'd strongly recommend that any specific discussion on the characters be included in the planned Huntrix article, at least while there is only one work about them. Maybe if we get multiple films and media with the three we can expand to individual character articles, but not now. Masem (t) 00:13, 5 December 2025 (UTC)

If you excuse the vernacular, in the coming months this award season, this film is bound to receive a crap-ton of awards and nominations. So I find it fitting that we split the accolades section into a separate article titled List of accolades received by KPop Demon Hunters. - Jasonbres (talk) 17:22, 3 December 2025 (UTC)
- Support:
Oppose (for now):I don't think that the accolades section is currently so large that it necessitates splitting. I would not say that the section is overwhelmingly long in relation to the other sections of the article, and the prose size for the article currently falls comfortably within the 6,000 – 8,000 range, which (per WP:SIZERULE) isn't so large as to immediately warrant a page split. If the section were to significantly grow in length due to next year's award season, then a split would probably be more warranted, but that is not so guaranteed as to be inevitable.Since the beginning of this discussion, the length of the accolades table has grown quite sizably, to a point where splitting it off now does seem warranted, in my opinion. — Jamie Eilat (talk) 18:41, 3 December 2025 (UTC) Edited 17:43, 30 December 2025 (UTC) - Support:

Jinu Character Animation
Additional information required for the character reference for Jinu.
Insert "Animator Min Hong also heavily referenced EXO's Kai “in order to bring to life the facial expressions of Jinu"{source}" after "Korean actor and singer Cha Eun-woo was a key influence for Jinu, the group's leader." ~2026-26626-87 (talk) 10:03, 2 May 2026 (UTC)
Mostly done: That portion of the paragraph has been expanded to read "Korean actor and singer Cha Eun-woo was a key influence for Jinu, the group's leader; additionally, Kai of the Korean boy band Exo served as a reference for Jinu's facial expressions". The phrasing is slightly different in order to state the information in wikivoice rather than using a quotation, but the requested information has been inserted into the requested location of the article. — Jamie Eilat (talk) 13:09, 2 May 2026 (UTC)
Prose not table: Critical reception
Please phase out the table full of film ratings. Good article do not do this, I'm surprised it managed to survive the {{Feature articled}} review too. Project WP:FILM has never encouraged the use of these tables and has always favored prose (the template {{Film ratings}} was twice deleted and only survived through a loophole as other projects were using variatons of the template). Even in Wikipedia projects that allow these tables they are only supposed to supplement the article and are never supposed to contain information that is not already in the article body, any reviews listed should already be used in the Critical response section. Arbitrarily selecting reviews from certain publications is not a neutral choice either, and it raises issues of WP:UNDUE emphasis and synthesis WP:SYNTH. This encyclopedia is supposed to be about WP:PROSE. It is disappointing to see a Featured article endorsing a bad example and using an obsolete table. (I know some people like it, but your own personal preference is not necessarily the same thing as best practice for an encyclopedia article. Use of this template has been massively discourageed and past consensus has repeatedly called for this template to be deleted outright.) -- ~2026-20754-35 (talk) 23:33, 17 June 2026 (UTC)
- There's no consensus to not use it & I don't see an issue with including the numerical rating from sources that are also used in the prose. I would agree with either removing table entries where the corresponding prose doesn't use the review (ex: The Times review, RogerEbert.com review, etc) or the prose is expanded to include something from a missing review. Sariel Xilo (talk) 00:35, 18 June 2026 (UTC)
There's no consensus to not use
double negative. There were many project level consensus discussions in the past discouraging the use of this table and two successful request to have the template deleted outright, but as I already it came back from the dead on a technicality. If editors of this article and the Feature articles reviewers really believe they are special or above the guiding principle of WP:PROSE then it is on them to establish their WP:LOCALCONSENSUS to ignore the rules and make an explicit exception to actively keep the table.- Reviews that just happen to offer numbered grades do not deserve any special attention. Again
I know some people like it
but that doesn't make it a good idea to highlight reviews that happen to offer numbered grades over any other review, in fact I personally object to the low quality reviews that pass for critique from IGN (you can't spell IGNorant without IGN) and it is WP:UNDUE to highlight them. In the article body the IGN review only serves to redundantly reiterate a point already better made by The New York Times. - I would still encourage editors to ensure that any reviews currently listed in the table are added to the article body (or removed). The Times is paywalled, adding meaningful content from that review might be difficult (if an editor really wanted it could be kept because WP:SOURCEACCESS is not an reason in and of itself to get rid of it). Again this inaccessible review probably should not have been highlighted in the first place. I only did a quick check but the reviews from Arizona Republic and Collider do not seem to be used at all outside the table, this is a pretty big oversight for a Featured article.
- This ratings tables template encourages the bad habit of listing reviews without actually using them in the article, many WP:WPVG articles fail to get expanded much beyond the table. It was with good reason that project WP:FILM intentionally avoided them and pushed for this template to be deleted multiple times. It would be a regressive move for a Featured article like this to set a bad example and risk encouraging their use in other film articles. -- ~2026-20754-35 (talk) 02:30, 18 June 2026 (UTC)
- If the article wasn't locked I would have tagged the section as {{Table section needs prose}} at least until all the reviews listed in the table were also used in the prose section (but I still recommend removing the table entirely).
- {{Video game reviews}} is the equivalent template for video game articles and the documentation there warns "Every single-site review source should be used within the reception section." {{Film ratings}} does not include a similar warning because its usage has never been encouraged in the first place. -- ~2026-20754-35 (talk) 02:39, 18 June 2026 (UTC)
- You may be interested in this recent discussion here: Wikipedia:Templates for discussion/Log/2026 June 18#Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic film prose which somewhat aligns with what you are saying, but doesn't concern the table, only the prose describing the reviews by Metacritic and Rotten Tomatoes. In solidarity - Historyday01 (talk) 19:16, 18 June 2026 (UTC)
- I would also note that Project video games has deprecated the use of

stars template in their version of the table, so numbers should be used not stars. This is clearly explained in their project level guidelines Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Video_games#Reception " Convert star ratings and other number-based scores to the equivalent numerals without changing the scale or the score itself". Again if editors really want to insist on using a template that Project Film has never encouraged anyone to use they should follow the best practices of the other projects (who mostly only grudgingly tolerate its use due to overwhelming precedence). -- ~2026-20754-35 (talk) 02:49, 18 June 2026 (UTC)
- Okay. Not every project will have the same rules. It almost seems like your argument comes down to that you don't like it, which isn't a justified reason to remove it here. Also, I don't see an issue with the table, as it really does not detract from the page either. Furthermore, I see you preferring the NY Times above, as compared to IGN. Sites aren't added on here whether we personally "like" a source or not, but rather on whether they are reliable. Also, the page is protected, not locked, to prevent article vandalism. In solidarity - Historyday01 (talk) 11:59, 18 June 2026 (UTC)
- Hmm. I'll go in the chart shortly and change the stars to numerals, which would actually work for some, as they aren't on a five-star rating. In solidarity - Historyday01 (talk) 19:17, 18 June 2026 (UTC)
- I agree with that. And it should be easy enough to incorporate those other reviews. In solidarity - Historyday01 (talk) 12:03, 18 June 2026 (UTC) Update: All the reviews in the film ratings/review box have now been incorporated into the text of the Critical Reception section, with this edit. I would say this makes the objections by this IP user moot at this point. In solidarity - Historyday01 (talk) 12:48, 18 June 2026 (UTC)
- Congratulations, the table is now only in addition to the prose, as it always should have been. I am glad you were able to at least address those complaints, but the underlying problem remains, and the fact that this oversight occurred even in a Featured Article shows how counter productive these tables can be.
It almost seems like your argument comes down to that you don't like it
My argument is not really my argument, I'm arguing for the prevouisly established consensus, I'm arguing for editors to follow the existing guidelines WP:PROSE and Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Tables#Prose. Project Film did not like these tables, and the template was twice deleted, the consensus might have been forgotten by most but the consensus and the reasonable arguments behind it never changed. Every once in a while someone tries to use the film ratings table anyway despite a consensus so long standing that most people have forgotten it exists, almost no film articles use {{Film ratings}} table, and a Featured article doing it sets a really bad example. The complaints about these types of tables and the problems they case were valid then and still valid now. I echo the very old consensus against using these tables and say again that there was no change of consensus to allow their use. It still arbitrarily and unduly highlights a few sources simply because they happen to have a particular scoring format. Please do look at the old discussions I linked above, logical arguments were made, I agreed with the already established consensus. Here's another old discussion on the topic: Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Film/Archive_88#h-Ratings_table?-20250724031400 (I have also seen many Video game articles where editors have added the table, cherry picked a few reviews and never bothered to write any prose, even though tables were always supposed to support not replace the text.)- P.S. That link to In solidarity was confusing, because it was wiki link beginning with "WP:" I thought it was some policy link related to this discussion that you wanted me to read. As it is not relevant to this discussion and supposed to be part of your signature it would be better if you included it after the dash (or dashes) that indicate the start of your user signature. -- ~2026-20754-35 (talk) 02:35, 20 June 2026 (UTC)
- As for that link, I only followed the guidance of other users on inclusion of that. And it IS part of my user signature, which is why it is there. In solidarity - Historyday01 (talk) 13:41, 20 June 2026 (UTC)
- I just want to add (as a casual reader) the table makes the surrounding paragraph nearly unreadable on mobile, which I was surprised passed the FA test.—Chimino (talk) 04:29, 20 June 2026 (UTC)
- There appears to be mostly a contestation about the use of the table among the editors enough to justify reading the consensus as moving in the direction of deletion of this table. Same contestations seem to being taking place at other film articles such Killers of the Flower Moon. Table is removed following general Talk page discussion to remove absent any other consensus. ErnestKrause (talk) 12:37, 20 June 2026 (UTC)
- Yeah, I don't mind the table being removed. In solidarity - Historyday01 (talk) 13:39, 20 June 2026 (UTC)

Marketing and Merches
Shouldn't there be a new subsection about marketing and merchandising under the "Release" section? Modern animated feature length films can't go without such stuffs, obviously.
This article from RTÉ News in Ireland should be able to assist you. JSH-alive/talk/cont/mail 07:56, 21 June 2026 (UTC)
- Hmm, perhaps. After all, merchandise is where the "real money" for the movie is made. While there is an "Other media" section, if we go by what the Steven Universe page does, as a model, we could either create a "Toys and merchandise" section (or just entitled "Merchandise") under the "Future" section or just add more to the "Other media" section (which already talks about toys). In any case, we'd need more than just one article, as I know there's definitely more out there about marketing and merch, as I was watching The Amazing Digital Circus last night and saw there was an ad for KPDH-themed skin cream, to give one example, so there's definitely other merch out there. I mean there's the Netflix official shop, but these articles may be helpful in creating such a section:

Plot
@Fruitful Frugal, ErnestKrause, and Jamie Eilat: rather than edit war, let's discuss concerns about phrasing here. Sariel Xilo (talk) 16:05, 27 June 2026 (UTC)
- I just find it baffling to purposefully leave out Jinu's role in the Idol Awards' sabotage, it is a vital scene not only in itself but also for the two lead characters of the film. It's not some minor, trivial narrative event. In the plot description for The Two Towers, should it be left unsaid that Saruman is the one responsible for the corruption of Théoden's mind? Of course not. Fruitful Frugal (talk) 16:11, 27 June 2026 (UTC)
- But how you rephrased it works for me, I don't even wish to rehash the wording of the other paragraphs I'll leave them alone, I'm fine with how it reads now. Fruitful Frugal (talk) 16:31, 27 June 2026 (UTC)
