KEJO FM predated the renaming of KFLY and was named after Emily Jo, so that happened more than a decade before KFLY was renamed to KEJO. There’s no mention of KFLY’s FM sister station that broadcast on 101.5 FM. They were a mix of simulcast and independent programming. For instance, live game broadcasts might be playing on KFLY while KEJO would be broadcasting AT40. KEJO’s genre was adult contemporary listening. Weather and news updates were the same on both stations, but played at different times — station programming was computer controlled so the announcer could record the news and weather once for both stations and the computer would play it back at the appropriate time. These recordings included shared call sign declarations at the top and bottom of the hours, per FCC regulations, such as "More of you favorite hits from yesterday and today, we’re 101.5 FM KEJO, KFLY 1240 AM." The computer control was advanced for the 1980s synchronizing multiple reel-to-reel decks for music and station jingles and Ampex cartridge players for ads and news. ~2025-33712-43 (talk) 22:54, 14 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
