Your complaint is actually a common one, unfortunately Wikipedia "is not an indiscriminate collection of information." A couple links will help answer your questions: WP:N and WP:5P. At first you may find the rules/guidelines constricting, but it does benefit quality of the content by filtering out the content with questionable merit. Tendancer 00:39, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

sorry, but discrimination is not exactly what is going on, its more like censorship. seriously. you didnt even answer my question. i love how as time goes on, information disappears from the article, like the names of the DJs, links to their myspace pages, and transcripts of the relevant show. woohoo, not only are you 'filtering out content of questionable merit', you are filtering out any content that is actually controversial and/or interesting, so you get a watery, cliffs notes version of what happened instead of anything worthwhile. even paper encyclopedias have reprints of primary sources, for example pages that are basically photographs of the declaration of independence. wikipedia is just getting more and more dumbed down, simplistic, and lacking in interesting details as time goes on —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 198.207.222.130 (talk) 22:17, 25 February 2007 (UTC).

Agree with above. Removing the names of the DJs, their myspace pages, and transcripts is not a neutral act, it is helping the radio station and harming Mr. Strange's position. I find it funny that the wikipedia keeps info/trivia on minor comicbook/anime/tv characters and regularly deletes other "less important" stuff. You want to be neutral, keep it all, if necessary, replace an article with a page saying this article is considered not notable, and so people can still go look at the history of the article. Deletion removes history. If you find that many people are skipping the "Not Notable" version and going for the historical version, it could mean that the article is actually notable and the voters were wrong or sock puppets. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 219.95.62.101 (talk) 18:31, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

Quantity of Water Consumed

Why does someone keep removing references to how much water was consumed by Strange? The latest reports say she may have drunk up to two gallons. I think people would be interested in knowing this, not to mention the quantity the winner drank. Mark 10:18, 17 January 2007 (PST)

"Hold Your Wee for a Wii" split needed

I added a tag calling for "Hold Your Wee for a Wii" to get its own article; the reason being is that the event is notable enough and the section sizable enough to get its own article. After the split, the main KDND article should have a link to that article, plus perhaps a brief description of the event. -- azumanga 01:33, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

I don't think it should be split. Without the contest, the article wouldn't be notable and would just be a stub. The section does need to be trimmed though (the transcript isn't needed). TJ Spyke 03:41, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

I think it should be slipt into two articles. On the KDND main article, you can just leave a brief description of what happened and add for more information just add the article link. Oppose split. It's my opinion that Jennifer Strange is a non-notable person and should not have a Wikipedia article: an unusual manner of death does not confer notability. I also think the "Hold Your Wee for a Wii" competition is only borderline notable; it did garner a lot of press, but it was only one of an unending string of similar gimmicky radio contests. The controversy over her death most appropriately attaches here, to the radio station that held the contest, which is clearly notable. Yes, but the underlying cause was the radio station. Controversial newsmaking events don't necessarily get their own article. We don't have articles like Denise Richards's Divorce from Charlie Sheen - that event attaches to the pre-existing notable figures (Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen). Neutral - It's my opinion that this could go either way. You can leave the section associated with KDND as both the station and the event will be forever linked (and the event is not assocated with any other radio station, inside or outside Sacramento). On the other hand, it could be its own article, as the term "Hold Your Wee for a Wii" will forever be associated with a radio contest that ended in tragedy--and as such will likely give radio station managers pause the next time they think an on-air contest may prove harmful to participants. (If it will be separated, classify it under "Hold Your Wee for a Wii" for those reasons, not under just "Jennifer Strange.") (Darrel M 03:16, 27 January 2007 (UTC))

Forthcoming new station with this call sign

Hi, I'd like to flag an issue here and put my opinion up before we get miscommunications.

The KDND call sign has been assigned to a new station at Dickinson, North Dakota, FID 768282 . This facility will rebroadcast the Your Network of Praise service and is not expected to have any regional or local variation. Indeed, it will not meet the GNG. It is typical practice that the active user of a broadcast station is given primary topic status. However, this is an unusual case in that the new KDND will not be eligible for an article and this defunct station continues to be the obvious primary topic for the call sign—it is one of the top 100 most-viewed radio station pages on the encyclopedia and seventh among all individual US radio stations.

When the new station does go on the air, I currently anticipate adding a hatnote:

For the current use of this call sign in Dickinson, North Dakota, see Your Network of Praise.

@Sammi Brie: Overall, this article looks good, but the sentences "Some later remarked on the physical discomfort they suffered during and following the event", "Subsequently, both DJs settled with Entercom for an undisclosed amount", and "and subsequently change its call sign to KZIS" are unsourced.
