Fair use rationale for Image:Pre-My KDFI.png

[edit]

Image:Pre-My KDFI.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:52, 6 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

History

[edit]

Channel 27 was assigned to Dallas in a compromise between two applicants who sought channel 29 in 1965: How was assigning channel 27 a compromise? Explicitness would be appreciated here. IAWW (talk) 10:33, 2 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

The change was part of a plan by Overmyer: What change? There are two application changes mentioned in the previous sentence but neither are to do with Overmyer's application. IAWW (talk) 10:33, 2 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

by moving the channel 27 allocation: I'm lost by this point, but also how does Overmyer have the power to change channel allocations? IAWW (talk) 10:33, 2 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Overmyer dropped out in November 1967 amid an investigation into his businesses: Strictly, it was the Overmyer business that dropped out, not the person, so "his" is wrong here IAWW (talk) 10:33, 2 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

KTWS-TV: The subscription years

[edit]

Spell out and link FCC IAWW (talk) 10:33, 2 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

its management believed it would take three to five years for cable to arrive in the city of Dallas: Could you state explicitly that this is relevant because cable would be considered competition to STV. IAWW (talk) 10:33, 2 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

"disconnect rate" is a bit vague. Could you explain with precision what statistic you are talking about here. IAWW (talk) 10:33, 2 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

  • I've added an explainer. Quote from article as this is a bugged clipping: In the first nine months of this year, VEU lost about 2,000 subscribers. The disconnect rate has run as high as 8 percent a month. "You can't survive that way," Cassara said.

Under KDFW-TV management

[edit]

The deal was announced just days: Cut "just" for neutrality and conciseness IAWW (talk) 10:33, 2 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

During the murder trial of O. J. Simpson, KDFI presented a nightly wrap-up show featuring highlights of the day's activity.: This is so different from the narrative built up in the previous part of the paragraph. It feels abrupt. I think it should be split into its own paragraph. IAWW (talk) 10:33, 2 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

  • It does awkwardly split! Moved it down.

MyNetworkTV affiliation

I want to flag specifically that some errors in clippings are an issue in GenealogyBank specific to The Dallas Morning News. GBank seems to improperly show clippings when they have metadata for specific articles, which the DMN has.
