Page protection and sources

[edit]

I've semi-protected the page for a week due to edit warring. Several IP editors have removed sourced content alleging it is defamatory, without explaining this or discussing the edits and sourcing. I will not edit the page having taken admin action, but these sources may be of use in editing and expanding this stub:

Does this content really need to be included? For me, it is not really a massive part of his life, and currently skews the article dramatically to being a WP:BLP1E non-neutral hack piece. Note that none of the sources mention his relation to cricket - for all intents and purposes, the coverage relating to his role as a Rector does not relate to him being notable. I fully support removing this content from the article. Daniel (talk) 21:54, 25 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
Daniel, perhaps it should it be deleted as an Wikipedia:Attack page. There is no apparent coverage of him as a cricketer, but there is coverage of him as a Rector. It would seem perverse to remove the sourced content and leave only content sourced to databases. Fences&Windows 17:18, 29 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
