Today in Canadian History

[edit]

I’ve just tried visiting the listed Today in Canadian History page.

Only to land on the pictured page.

Is there anything we can do: beyond being careful?

José Gervasio Artigas birthday

[edit]

User:Alejito2016 has added an entry for the birth of José Gervasio Artigas to the Holidays and observances section, even though his birth is already listed in the births section. I reverted their change, but they have reverted my revert. I want to avoid an edit war, so would welcome comments here. Thanks, Kiwipete (talk) 21:10, 18 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Kiwipete José Gervasio Artigas' birth is listed in the births section because he was born on this day, that's correct. My edit was to add it as a National Public Holiday in Uruguay, because it is, according to Law Nr. 9935. The official name is "Natalicio de Artigas" (Spanish for Birthday of Artigas), and it is also when the citizens took the pledge of allegiance to the flag, therefore, it is of great importance in the country, and that is why it should be highlighted.
The holiday "Never Again Day" that was listed in the Holidays and observances section IS NOT a public holiday in Uruguay, the "José Gervasio Artigas Birthday" is, and for that reason I reverted your revert. I do not intend a war of edits, I hope it can be solved. Thanks. Alejito2016 (talk) 21:29, 18 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
There's no reason to be listed twice. Pick one. Toddst1 (talk) 22:26, 19 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
