Concern about BLP policy violation in 2023 resignation section

[edit]

Hi all - I'm flagging a potential issue with the following sentence in the article: "Stone resigned in 2023, as a result of allegations of sexual harassment and threats to colleagues, including voicing elaborate fantasies of raping his colleague with an asteroid." While I understand this may be sourced, I believe this line violates Wikipedia's Biographies of Living Persons (BLP) policy for the following reasons: 1) It includes graphic and inflammatory language that lacks encyclopedia tone. 2) It may give undue weight to one allegation relative to the subject's overall biography. 3) It risks causing disproportionate reputational harm and may not reflect a neutral point of view. Would the community consider rewording or removing this sentence? I'd appreciate input from editors more experienced with BLP matters. Thanks so much for your time and considerationSweet Pollie Purebred (talk) 19:01, 30 May 2025 (UTC).Reply

Removal of unsourced/defamatory material per WP:BLP

[edit]

I made edits to the *Judd Stone* article to remove unsourced and defamatory statements concerning legal allegations. As a reminder, under Wikipedia’s **Biographies of Living Persons (WP:BLP)** policy, any contentious material about a living person **must be supported by reliable sources** and presented in a **neutral, encyclopedic tone**.

Some of the language previously included was accusatory, lacked proper attribution, and could be interpreted as defamatory if not carefully worded and sourced. I’ve preserved well-sourced content, such as the the legal filings, while omitting or rephrasing inflammatory or speculative claims not directly supported by cited, reliable secondary sources.

If anyone has additional primary or reliable secondary coverage that supports inclusion of relevant facts in a neutral tone, I welcome collaboration on improving this section.

With gratitude, and integrity - keep calm and Wiki on SheTreadsOnGods (talk) 03:51, 26 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia's biography of living persons policy does not mean "no negative information", as you seem to be interpreting it. What it actually says is that all information about living people must be backed by reliable sources, which were clearly listed (before you removed them and tried to whitewash the article).
Additionally, if you represent Stone or have a connection to him, you have a conflict of interest and should not be editing the page directly. You can propose changes on this talk page with the {{Edit COI}} template. Iiii I I I (talk) 05:46, 26 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
