The opening paragraph states that "At UFC 323, he became the UFC's second Asian-born male champion" which is at odds with the paragraph entailing his championship win which states that "He also became the UFC's first Asian-born male champion" MMAfan12345 (talk) 11:42, 26 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
You are correct; there is a contradiction in the text. While the UFC marketing often labels Joshua Van as the "first," this ignores that Petr Yan (born in Dudinka, Siberia) is geographically the first Asian-born male champion.
