Conrad's visits to S.F.

[edit]

Did Joseph Conrad actually visit San Francisco?

If so, when?

I see no mention of such visits in Zdzisław Najder's rather comprehensive Joseph Conrad: A Life (2007).

Which ship's stern piece appears in Joseph Conrad Square?
Is it identified by something like a plaque?

There was never any piece of a ship in Joseph Conrad Square. The ship "Joseph Conrad" was donated to Boston in 1947 and has been there ever since. The mini park in SF was not named until 1979. The first renovation of the park took place in 1982. VisionWaterScapes (talk) 03:29, 21 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
