- ... that Jos Murer's 450-year-old plan, the first bird's-eye view of Zurich, is still used to determine how the city's buildings and streets originally looked?
- Source: Hook verification:
450-year-old plan: The headline of the cited Neue Zürcher Zeitung article states: “Zürichs erster Stadtplan ist 450 Jahre alt.” This translates as: “Zurich’s first city plan is 450 years old.” Source
First bird's-eye view of Zurich: Neue Zürcher Zeitung states: “Jos Murers Werk erlaubte erstmals einen Blick auf Zürich aus der Vogelschau.” This translates as: “Jos Murer’s work provided the first bird's-eye view of Zurich.” Source
Still used to determine how buildings and streets originally looked: The City of Zurich educational source states: “Er wird immer noch als «Kronzeuge» herangezogen, wenn das ursprüngliche Aussehen eines Gebäudes oder einer Gasse bestimmt werden soll.” This translates as: “It continues to be used as key evidence when determining the original appearance of a building or street.” Source- Reviewed:

More than x5 recent expansion, no QPQ needed. No copyvio found. Is the death date in not reliable? However, not a DYK issue, and the hook seems interesting, supported by sources, and present in the article. CMD (talk) 05:51, 10 August 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you for the review. I left out the specific day because the reliable sources disagree: HLS gives 16 October 1580, SIKART gives 14 or 15 October 1580, and DB gives 14 October 1580. I therefore went with October 1580 as the safest wording. HerBauhaus · talk 05:55, 11 August 2026 (UTC)
