Currently, there is a sentence that reads, "Aged 50, he became was the youngest chief justice since John Marshall." My account is too new to edit this article. Could somebody fix this so that it reads "Aged 50, he became the youngest chief justice since John Marshall," or "Aged 50, he was the youngest chief justice since John Marshall."

Per this July 27, 2025 NY Times article, https://www.nytimes.com/2025/07/27/arts/smithsonian-john-roberts-trump-supreme-court.html , the Chief Justice has a collateral duty as Chancellor of the Smithsonian Institution's Board of Regents, a position all Chief Justices have held since 1851. Surprisingly, I could find no mention of this in our article. The NYT article goes on to analyze Robert's difficult balancing act in President Trump's effort to change policies at the Smithsonian, including Trump's recent attempt to fire the head of its National Portrait Gallery. Chancellor Roberts overruled the President: only the Smithsonian Board has that power.
Chief Justice Roberts is a history buff. The chief justice likes to tells an anecdote about "how he had wanted to become a historian, but changed his mind after a taxi driver told him that he, too, had been a history major at Harvard." Which anecdote certainly needs to be in our Wikibio of Roberts! Cited to this NYT article.
Clearly we need a para here on this aspect of his career. Perhaps there is something at the Smithsonian page on this? Pete Tillman (talk) 19:40, 28 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
Roberts relished the perk of getting to see the baby pandas at the National Zoo!
And this:
