General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems
Hook: Hook has been verified by provided inline citation
QPQ: Done.

Overall: Article is new enough and long enough, well sourced and neutral. I copy edited a small paraphrase, but otherwise Earwig shows no concerns. Hook is cited, but I wondered if something a bit snappier could be proposed? maybe about the relationship with Wise, or the potboilers? QPQ is done Lajmmoore (talk) 18:45, 29 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

Lack of ambition?

[edit]

Where in the sources does it verify that he had "a lack of ambition"? Bearian (talk) 16:46, 16 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hello @Bearian:
"He [Chapman] was a man of very decided artistic talent, though lazy and unambitious." ("The Chapman Collection of Paintings, Drawings, etc".)
"Judging by his work, J. Linton Chapman was a talented painter and illustrator, but he seems to have had little or no ambition." (Zellman 1986)
