Dutchified English

[edit]

The expression 'attended primary and secondary education' is heavily Dutchified English (there may be more of it in this article). You can attend a school, college or university (an institution), but unlike in Dutch ('onderwijs volgen', literally 'follow education') you can't 'attend education' (an abstract term). A correct translation would be 'attended primary and secondary school'. I would ask Dutch-speakers and others who submit Wikipedia articles in English to get them checked first by a competent native speaker, otherwise the increasingly incorrect (and sometimes actually incomprehensible) English on Wikipedia will continue to get worse and be copied by other people.213.127.210.95 (talk) 17:49, 26 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
