@DaniloDaysOfOurLives: The article appears to be well-written, stable, verifiable, and neutral. I have points to address.
  • Why does the individual not have a photograph in the infobox? Can you not find an image that is in the public domain or has a Creative Commons licence?
  • The sentence, "Ellis is from Liverpool but also lived in London" seems awkward. You could correct it to "Ellis is from Liverpool, but she also lived in London."
  • Why is "killed-off" hyphenated? I think you should remove the hyphen.
  • The sentence, "Ellis was sad to leave the role but was glad the door was closed so that she could look forward with her career", seems to be WP:PUFFERY. I suggest rewriting it to comply with WP:NPOV.
  • "Medieval" does not need to be capitalised.
  • I suggest combining the sentences "She is an only child. Ellis is from Liverpool" into "She is an only child from Liverpool." Make sure you keep the citations.
  • "Special needs" does not need to be capitalised.
  • Citations should be placed in numerical order. For example, I see the sentence, "Ellis then appeared in two episodes, which were broadcast on 23 and 25 August 2011, of the BBC soap opera EastEnders as Debs, and that same year she appeared in an episode of Doctors" has three citations in the article, but they are out of numerical order.
  • I would replace statements such as "good friend" with "close friend".
  • Not every sentence that was paraphrased needs to have a citation. If there are consecutive sentences that cite the same source, unless a sentence directly quotes that source, you need a citation only at the end of the part of the paragraph that cites that source. If a sentence directly quotes a source, you need to cite it in the same sentence.
  • Birmingham Mailis a tabloid newspaper. Can you find a replacement source?
If you make these changes, or otherwise address these points, I plan to make this a good article. As you said you would endeavour to honour your plan to review other articles, I have one outstanding GAN as of this post.

@DaniloDaysOfOurLives: I placed the review on hold. I will give you seven days to address the points I addressed. Z. Patterson (talk) 03:48, 14 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Z. Patterson: Thank you so much for your lovely review - you are awesome! I have done all of the points above - the only one I have not done is removing citations as I prefer to keep citations at the end of sentences to make verifying the info easier, especially in a BLP as it is so important. Everything else I have done (with the Birmingham Mail, I just removed it). Funny you ask about the picture - I could not find a picture when I originally made the article, but a few weeks ago I discovered a picture my friend had taken with the actress and she allowed me to post it on Wikipedia, but I completely forgot until now! I have added it :) DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 18:24, 14 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
@DaniloDaysOfOurLives: You are welcome. I see you have added the picture. I will pass this as a good article. I commend your work. Z. Patterson (talk) 22:40, 14 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

  • I think that a shortened version of the first hook might be a strong hook as well:
ALT0a ... actress Jessica Ellis was happy that her character was killed off in Hollyoaks?
This is not a review, but I think that the best hook is ALT1. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 03:02, 22 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
Giving this a full review. The article was promoted to good article status on July 14th and was nominated on the 16th, so it's within the one-week limit. I did not find any close paraphrasing and any hits were only due to quotes. A QPQ has been done; it's admittedly a little light for my taste as it did not explicitly check all the DYK criteria (particularly about hook sourcing), but I will accept it this time, with a note to the nominator to be more complete next time. I did mention earlier that I thought a shortened version of ALT0 would make a good hook, but I do think that ALT1 is the best option and thus is the only one I'm approving. It is cited inline to an offline source. I will approve this once an excerpt stating the information is provided here (a short quote should be sufficient, no need to send the entire magazine interview). @Narutolovehinata5: Thank you so much for the review. I have given the quote below. I was happy with the shortened version of ALT0 too but I think ALT1 is more interesting. Regarding the QPQ - I am a bit confused on what I did wrong as I checked all the criteria (QPQ, Earwig, sourcing etc)?
""Do you think you would make a good nurse in real life?" "Absolutely not! I have a phobia of ears. Also I'm never ill, so I don't have much sympathy for other people when they have colds or whatever. Being sympathetic is one of the foundations of being a nurse, and I don't have it in me"."
You forgot to check things like paraphrasing, hook referencing, and if the article supported the hook. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 10:21, 26 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
@DaniloDaysOfOurLives: It has been a week since the above, please revise your review, or provide a different complete review, for the QPQ to be accepted. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 12:27, 3 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Narutolovehinata5: You said above that "A QPQ has been done; it's admittedly a little light for my taste as it did not explicitly check all the DYK criteria (particularly about hook sourcing), but I will accept it this time, with a note to the nominator to be more complete next time.". What changed?--Launchballer 12:30, 3 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Launchballer: Ah never mind that. Admittedly it had been a while since I took at the nomination, and I completely forgot that I accepted the QPQ this time. My original intention was to ping the nominator if he read my response. Apologies for the confusion. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 12:32, 3 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
@DaniloDaysOfOurLives: As it has been 13 days since Naruto's request, I will close this in 24 hours if the above is not addressed.--Launchballer 13:39, 9 August 2025 (UTC) @Narutolovehinata5: What else does Danilo need to do here? I see a quote on this page.--Launchballer 13:41, 9 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
I was just waiting for an acknowledgement of the advice regarding more complete QPQs. The actual article and nomination have no more issues and it's ready for approval (I have also struck the other hooks to make it clear that only ALT1 is approved). Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 01:13, 10 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, I did not know I had to reply. I have acknowledge the advice about QPQ - in my review, I did not all the things that you have said, I simply did not write them out, but I will next time. DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 04:53, 11 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
I'm opposed to a blanket ban on rerunning pulled hooks, but as this has already had about 17 hours on the main page, rerunning this would give it 41. I'm rejecting this.--Launchballer 11:47, 25 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
