Career dates

I've added in some concrete dates with regard to his time at St Bernards (joined 1937 from Alloa, left 1939 for DUFC) and managing Alloa but others are harder to come by and a bit contradictory:

• Mike Watson has a J Kerr appearing 5 times for United in 1947-48 - assuming this is him, what did he do during 46-47, nevermind during the war years?

• Bob Crampsey has him "moving up the road to Dundee" latterly, although without specifying what he did there. Coach/scout/director?

• Archie MacPherson's obituary suggests he played for Rangers immediately after the war, not before. Perhaps he guested for Rangers during the war when United went into abeyance, then signed for them officially at it's conclusion, as many guests did. Rangers were running two teams at the time, a first X1 in the Southern League and a second XI in the North-Eastern, so would have required a large squad.

• Archie MacPherson also suggests he played until he was 41 (1953) and MacPherson's chronology seems to suggest he was a player-coach at Berwick Rangers, rather than an out-and-out manager, with a career path of Berwick -> Peebles -> Alloa -> United. No dates, so a bit dubious.

Finally, a little bit of trivia, which I'm not sure is important enough to merit a place in the article - Kerr's debut for St Bernards was a 7-1 victory in 1937-38: at Tannadice! Strange how football works sometimes. Caledonian Place 18:48, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
