Gary Bond and bisexuality
[edit]It is quite strange that Gary Bond is mentioned as Brett's partner but nothing about him in the article itself. There is so much untold story. --Óli Gneisti (talk) 10:21, 4 January 2022 (UTC)
- Jeremy was a private person, he had many partners in his life with some we know loosely about (Gary Bond, Paul Shenar, Susan Locke)and the others that are not known to us. The relationship between the two was well known within the theatre community, with many gay actors (derek Jacobi, Ian Mckellan) noting it was one of the first open queer relationships they knew about. Both Jeremy and Gary remained good friends until their deaths Cntinaclwnsuit (talk) 04:14, 30 June 2026 (UTC)

More images
[edit]I believe that such a personality as Jeremy Brett deserves more images on Wikipedia. 2001:9E8:E1B:6300:CDD8:76BC:BD8B:5851 (talk) 17:14, 31 July 2024 (UTC)
- The number of images in a biography article are a reflection of how many freely licenced (or public domain) photos exist of that person, and how many facets of their life need to be depicted, rather than how important a figure they are.
- In the case of Brett, no freely licenced images seem to be available, so we can only use copyrighted photographs under the WP:FAIRUSE policy, part of which is that such usage be "minimal". Belbury (talk) 17:22, 31 July 2024 (UTC)
- I didn't know the details of all that. Thank you for the clarification. 2001:9E8:E04:A400:CDD8:76BC:BD8B:5851 (talk) 20:18, 2 August 2024 (UTC)
Children and partners in infobox
[edit]In the info box it says he had three children. The source is a an interview on Youtube in which he explains that two of them is his second wife's children. Since there's nothing that says he adopted them, I don't suppose they should be stated as his children in the info box. It has nothing to do with how good relationship he might have had with his wife's children, or that he referred to them as his children. Legally they weren't.
Similarly, his male partners. Brett never spoke about male partners in public. In the info box we don't list just any partner that someone has had, but marriage or similar. Unless we truly know that these relationships were simlar to marriage, they shouldn't be in the info box. Explain them in the article text instead. -- Hjordmån (talk) 18:57, 21 December 2024 (UTC)
- I agree. Unless someone can point to a Wikipedia policy, change the infobox accordingly Billsmith60 (talk) 02:00, 24 January 2025 (UTC)
Whose nephew?
[edit]"He had three older brothers: John Henry (1924–1999), Michael William (1927–2000) and Patrick William (1929–2017). The actor Martin Clunes is his nephew."
Whose nephew? rowley (talk) 09:11, 19 June 2026 (UTC)
- It’s a mystery to me, tried to figure out the ancestry. Now in an interview Martin Clunes says he is the nephew of Jeremy via his sister but Jeremy only had brothers. So I’m assuming he’s a cousin but because of the age difference (28 years) they had a more uncle-nephew relationship Cntinaclwnsuit (talk) 04:18, 30 June 2026 (UTC)
Hamlet
[edit]Jeremy did not play hamlet in 1959, he played the character in 1960 at the Oxford playhouse then also in 1961 at the strand theatre in London. Confusion has been made the playing the Dane interview in which he talks about the death of his mother which impacted him deeply and influenced his performance choices as hamlet Cntinaclwnsuit (talk) 04:09, 30 June 2026 (UTC)
