Company's Relation to Magnavox

This article could be improved by describing the relationship implied in the first sentence, between Jensen Radio Manufacturing Company, with patents about 1927, and the Commercial Wireless and Development Company founded in 1911 (renamed Magnavox in 1917). I understand that the co-inventor, Peter Laurits, was associated with both companies, but - were those two former companies actually related to each other?
