General primatologist category

[edit]

I see that @Ser Amantio di Nicolao just removed Altmann from the category Primatologists, presumably because she's in Category:Women_primatologists. Why can't she be in both? Should we remove all women from Category:Primatologists? So, Jane Goodall and Dian Fossey aren't primatologists, they are women primatologists?!

I am going to undo this edit. Altman's work was important irrespective of her gender. And those looking to specifically find women scientists should be able to do that easily. Monkeywire (talk) 15:05, 26 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

@Monkeywire: I removed the article because it is in Category:American primatologists; if it is in the by-nationality category it does nit need to be in the parent. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 21:08, 26 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Got it. Thanks for explaining. Monkeywire (talk) 22:55, 26 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
