This page was previously a redirect to the soundtrack album for Ascenseur pour l'échafaud (a related but separate album).

I have replaced the redirect by creating a proper page for the original 1958 album.

Although it has been superceded by two more complete albums, each expanding one of the two sides, this was one of Miles' original albums from the late 1950s, in print for decades, and recently rereleased on vinyl. It should have its own entry, and its absence was potentially confusing (see some comments by others on the 1958 Miles talk page).

The redirect seemed to me to be a temporary fix, and worked in a misleading way (i.e. redirecting to another album containing only half the material), so I trust this more complete entry will satisfy others as well as myself.

The link used in the redirect is still here, as the hyperlink behind the word soundtrack in the second sentence. I don't know if anything else needs to be done to change the page's behavior/status from a redirect page to a regular entry. J Edward Malone (talk) 20:16, 5 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
