Talk:Jawoe script

Article name

In Acehnese, the term Jawoe actually refers to the Malay language and its script. For example, there is a manuscript titled Hikayat Basa Jawoe, which is essentially an Acehnese–Malay dictionary. Therefore, I suggest that this article be titled Acehnese Jawi or Acehnese Jawoe. Si Gam (talk) 15:28, 27 June 2026 (UTC)

I've reconsidered using "Jawoe script" while researching, considering Jawoe is also the generic Acehnese word for Malay Jawi (as what Bukhari Daud said), but I've also seen Jawoe being used exclusively to refer to Acehnese Jawi online, so I settled with "Jawoe script" in the meantime until a consensus could be formed, I do prefer Acehnese Jawoe to remove any ambiguity though now that I have hindsight Zayn Kauthar (talk) 16:58, 27 June 2026 (UTC)

Letters pronounciation

A minor correction, the pronunciations of the Jawoe letters are kha (not kho), ra (not ro), sat (not sot), dat/lat (not dot/lot), ta (not to), da/la (not do/lo), and kah (not koh). Si Gam (talk) 01:38, 28 June 2026 (UTC)
