Family

[edit]

In order to help make this article more properly encyclopedic, the following sentence about Stanley's family was added on April 1, 2025:

Stanley was married to the cardiologist Njeri K. Thande,[1][2][3] with whom he has two sons,[4] and from whom he filed for divorce in 2023.[5]

Thanks for bringing this suggestion here. Whether to include this content is a delicate issue because Wikipedia's sourcing standards are quite high for biographies of living persons. According to our policy, court documents about divorce proceedings cannot be used as sources. If either Stanley or Thande wishes the public to know about the divorce they could announce it on social media or tell a journalist, and then we can use that social media post or interview or article as a source. Until something like that happens, we have to err on the side of privacy. Does this make sense? Clayoquot (talk | contribs) 07:00, 2 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
I found a better source (Vanity Fair) and used it. Clayoquot (talk | contribs) 07:36, 2 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
I'm also fine with leaving out all mention of his family. Clayoquot (talk | contribs) 15:27, 2 April 2025 (UTC)Reply

Image

[edit]

I added an image to the article, but apparently the subject is not happy about it. What is the appropriate course of action?

My approach is to remove bad images wherever I find them. This is a bad image. Viriditas (talk) 21:45, 22 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
We don't know if the person who keeps removing the image is the subject or not. In my opinion it's not a bad image but it I don't think it quite meets the standard of quality we want for a widely-read biography of a living person. I think it's best to leave it out.
