Are these words profanity?

[edit]

From a native speaker's viewpoint, many of these seem to be merely negative words (e.g. けち: 「彼女って本当にけちな人だね」"She really is stingy.") or neutral words (e.g. ゲイ: literally the transliteration of the English word "gay"). Branches of Dichotomy (talk) 12:54, 2 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

By and large they aren't profanity. None of these words would be bleeped or censored in popular entertainment media. The article is misnamed.95.148.252.2 (talk) 09:21, 15 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Agreed, there's a lot of non-offensive medical terminology etc in the current article. I would suggest that we filter out anything that's not listed here or otherwise referenced. Jpatokal (talk) 03:18, 30 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
