New translation

[edit]

Commencing translation of the corresponding Japanese Wikipedia article {{ja:和洋折衷建築}}. Please be patient while this work is being completed. Any assistance with markup amd copy editing will be greatly appreciated. I will post notes to the Translator's notes (ongoing) section of this talk page as work proceeds. Translators notes (ongoing)

[edit]

Here I will give updates in regards to anything related to the translation that needs to be noted.

1.0 The corresponding Japanese article is short but the references are scholarly rigorous and relate to the subject. Couple of suggestions

[edit]

I am wondering whether there should be a hyphen between 'Japanese' and 'Western'. I note that this reference does so. If so, I can move the page. Also, when I get some time, I'll do some digging for this style in Taiwan, as I think there are at least a few examples there. I had a preliminary look also at Singapore and Malaysia, as they were occupied during WWII, but so far have not found much. merlinVtwelve (talk) 20:42, 25 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

@MerlinVtwelve: Yes I think that's a good call. See MOS:HYPHEN and examples Sino-Soviet Split, Second Sino-Japanese War. I'll have to come back to this, so please go ahead and change the title if I have not got around to it sooner. Cheers,
