When was JAS disestablished?

The article is quite inconsistent concerning this question: The infobox says 1 October 2006, the category lists the company as "disestablished in 2005", and the article text reads On April 1, 2004, Japan Airlines (old JAL) changed its name to Japan Airlines International and Japan Air System (JAS) changed its name to Japan Airlines Domestic. Japan Airlines System was renamed to Japan Airlines Corporation to make the most of the JAL brand. At the same time, all JAS flight codes, check-in desks and plane were unified into JAL, and the Japan Air System brand officially ceased to exist. Japan Air System → Japan Airlines DomesticJapan Airlines Domestic – I just checked some now archived sources that JAS become JAD by 2004 before fully merged with JAL in 2006. The JAS Brand ceased by 2004, so I think we need to change JAS to JAD for these reasons. NBS13QRS (talk) 09:19, 15 March 2025 (UTC)This is a contested technical request (permalink). @NBS13QRS: Hi! I am aware that the JAS brand ended in 2004. I think usually with historical entities, one does not necessarily use the most recent name, but the most well-known/most common name. One guideline at Wikipedia:Article_titles#Use_commonly_recognizable_names states: "If, on the other hand, reliable sources written after the name change is announced continue to use the established name when discussing the article topic in the present day, Wikipedia should continue to do so as well, as described above at § Use commonly recognizable names." Wikipedia:Naming conventions (companies) states: "Whenever possible, the most common usage in independent, reliable, secondary sources should be used". Japan Airlines Domestic → Japan Air System – I read the previous move request. The thing is that this company was known for the vast majority of its life as "Japan Air System" and only was "Japan Airlines Domestic" for a few years. My understanding is that the overall corpus of reliable sources about this company would overwhelmingly refer to it as "Japan Air System". We should use the common name, so I am guessing that this request should be supported, but it's possible that participation is lacking here because data hasn't been provided.
