Frailty & deadAir

[edit]

Frailty was initially self-released by Jane, only later was the album re-released through deadAir Imagination deprivation (talk) 15:20, 27 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Was it? https://x.com/deadAirrecords/status/1458856531865313285?s=20
DeadAir went public on the release of Frailty, and posted about it even before it actually went live. Although on a smaller scale, it looks like DeadAir was there from the beginning. Let me know. Saintfuki (talk) 01:54, 20 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
Yall I apologize, I completely mixed up this album with drive-by lullabies by quinn - that was the album that was later re-released through deadAir. Frailty was released initially through deadAir, I apologize for being wrong! Imagination deprivation (talk) 01:13, 15 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Should this be redirected to Draft:Jane Remover?

[edit]

guessing it should since the alias dltzk isnt used anymore, but ill let someone else decide :P NUMBRstation (talk) 22:04, 2 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

ok well i did it anyways, feel free to change it back but it just made sense NUMBRstation (talk) 03:36, 3 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

name

[edit]

Considering that their two latest singles (Royal Blue Walls and Contingency Song) have writing credits to "Jane Liars", I think we should be considering that their real name (as opposed to their stage name, Jane Remover). The title ofc can still be Jane Remover, but rather than using "Jane" to refer to them, it should be "Liars".

I'm working on cleaning this page up and adding more stuff / references, but I just wanted to get that bit of info out there first. Twizzlestorm (talk) 02:09, 17 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Ignore this, actually. From her RYM page's metacomments where people got in contact with her directly:
"so 4 the akas some r unnecessary (just my first name, dltzk Spelled Out, Jamie) & jane liars is not my name its Jane Remover that is my name. im fine w dltzk being an fka but i would consider all of my releases Jane Remover ."
That opens up the discussion about whether or not "Remover" should be how they're referred to, but "Liars" should be avoided. Twizzlestorm (talk) 17:05, 17 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
I think it's incorrect to refer to Jane as "Remover" when that is not her legal surname, nor does she claim that it is her last name, but simply her stage name; maybe we should refer to articles for other artists using a stage name that only preserves their first name, such as Charli XCX or Ariel Pink.
What I am pretty certain of is that Jane is not comfortable with her legal surname (the one other than Jane Liars appearing on releases) being used in reference to her. To my knowledge, it has never appeared in a publication or interview, although it is credited on some of her releases. Although I don't know of the Wikipedia policy around this, this should be kept in mind. RhymeWrens (talk) 13:14, 17 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

college

[edit]

she's not in college anymore either, i'll try my best to find an archived source but 2 days ago she did a q&a on instagram and said she's not anymore and is grateful that she isn't Saintfuki (talk) 06:34, 8 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

pronouns

[edit]

I get Wikipedia has that annoying only use one pronoun set "for consistency" rule but if we have to pick one to refer to jane as it makes more sense to chose they/them because they use they/she pronouns. and people typicly put their favorite pronoun first. Afroswordguy (talk) 09:15, 26 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Is there any evidence that "they" take priority for her? I think saying she lists that first as justification is a bit of a presumption. — Czello (music) 10:10, 26 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
I guessing you aren’t trans so it makes sense you didn’t know this but when people list their pronouns as “they/she or “they/he” as opposed to “she/they” or “he/they” it almost always means they have a preference for they/them.https://www.reddit.com/r/asktransgender/comments/t0r3tp/theyshe_and_shethey_is_the_first_pronoun_the/ This is just a convention in trans community there’s no real source I can cite other than a Reddit post discussing it and my first hand experience with interacting with trans people. Like, Jane saying their pronouns are they/she literally does imply a preference for they/them that’s just how the practice of listening pronouns evolved. Afroswordgal (talk) 07:32, 18 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
this isn't true at all and can really only be backed up using anecdotes from either side of the argument. a lot of people don't mind either or, but some people use they to shield from potential backlash when it comes to using the "direct opposite gender pronoun". source: i;m a trans woman and i used they for so long even though i wanted to be called her.
that being said, jane has also removed "they" from her pronouns on both instagram as well as twitter. they're located in her instagram bio as well as the "location" section on her twitter as just "she" Saintfuki (talk) 01:48, 17 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
Jane seems to use they/them now, unable to find any pronouns on their social media but they recently posted an article/interview on twitter that introduces them with they/them; https://www.papermag.com/jane-remover-revengeseekez#rebelltitem17 https://x.com/janeremover/status/1909622977102033210 Luna (talk) 17:02, 8 April 2025 (UTC)Reply

c0ncernn

[edit]

Re: "The most notable of these aliases is Leroy (used interchangeably with "C0ncernn")"

I haven't able to find a truly reputable source for this, but I don't think this is true. Notably, the c0ncernn Spotify account says "FAN UPLOADED / NOT JANE" in the artist bio (https://open.spotify.com/artist/7dGU76bSIWTcybFmovtjcz), and the account's already been taken down a couple times in the past- idk how it keeps getting past Spotify and going back up, unless the bio can be explained by like Jane wanting to distance themselves from the alias or something. It's also been alleged that the bandcamp account is fake, which seems pretty likely for various reasons.

Would appreciate a more experienced editor who has a good grasp on what kind of sources are permissible to look into this. 66.214.68.49 (talk) 18:26, 3 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Jane originally uploaded the dariacore albums under "c0ncernn" on streaming and "leroy" on bandcamp/soundcloud. The dariacore albums were taken off a few months ago both from streaming and bandcamp. The current "c0ncernn" isn't the same as the previous one as it is not official. The current bandcamp up is also fake. The "c0ncernn" alias was never mentioned in sources, so I wouldn't be against removing it, but Jane definitely used it in the past officially. — PerfectSoundWhatever (t; c) 18:46, 3 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
Ah ok, thanks for clearing that up 66.214.68.49 (talk) 05:13, 4 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Questioning an Alias

[edit]

I understand adding things like dltzk and high zoey for past aliases. Venturing, Leroy and Jamison Bleached Waters for side projects that have been recent and somewhat prominent online. And I guess she does still DJ as DJ Coolgirl 9 from time to time (although rare now but I guess there's a case to be made for it.)? But LilNedBigby really does seem unnecessary. A side project that lasted 11 months and isn't really known unless you're looking for "Jane Remover lore". I say it doesn't need to be there but it'd be interesting to hear an argument for it. Saintfuki (talk) 01:50, 20 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

We should talk about Removers main project before her side projects

[edit]

It feels odd to talk about Leroy, a side project of hers that she is finished with rather than her main project that is being continued to this day. I don’t have evidence because I believe the tweet was deleted and I only half remember it. But she has expressed discomfort about people talking about Leroy first when a reviewer mentioned it first thing in a review of her second album and she responded passive aggressively about it. refrain from adding unecessary/unused/outdated/unpopular aliases

[edit]

MOS:BIOALTNAME: 'Nicknames and other aliases included must be frequently used by reliable sources in reference to the subject.' 'Alternative names that are sourceable but not generally known to the public...are not encyclopedic.' please stop adding an overabundance of niche, unrecognisable and irrelevant aliases, such as High Zoey or Venturia Support System. they are hardly referencable and entirely irrelevant to Jane Remover's current body of work. 111.220.45.43 (talk) 12:36, 21 February 2025 (UTC)Reply

name

[edit]

Previous sources indicate that Tosun is Jane Remover's last name. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=14wvutbkxlE https://musicbrainz.org/artist/d97b3a8e-9d41-4f0e-a3cd-3cc86f66004c/works

For proof that Zeke/Jane Tosun is a legitimate name: https://bowl.com/news/twelve-youth-bowlers-selected-to-receive-gift-for-life-scholarships

I've gone ahead and added that into the article. I haven't seen any precedent for keeping basic information like birth name out of articles based on artist wishes. Correct if so.

Rooves 13 (Talk) 23:57, 7 April 2025 (UTC)Reply

Yes, their government last name is Tosun. However, since it is not reported in secondary sources and is only findable from very old JR singles, it has no place in the article, as they clearly want their private life separate from their professional life. jane is non-binary in 2025 now

in the comments of this instagram post jane confirms theyre non binary

'Dltzk' and 'Remover'

[edit]

'They formerly made music under the pseudonym Dltzk. They came out publicly as a trans woman in 2022, creating their new name, Jane Remover, as they left their deadname behind.'

This seems to imply that Dltzk was their deadname. This is obviously not true, since the name is neither male nor their birth name. In general, the article seems to conflate artistic pseudonyms and personal identity, as is the case here:

'On June 27, 2022, Remover announced the retirement of the Dltzk pseudonym, and introduced the name Jane Remover.'

As described in this sentence, this is part of the management of an artistic career, not an act of changing one's personal identity. Did this happen before, after or simultaneously with their coming out as trans? 'Remover' is a surname, but it has no connection to their gender identity. It is not even explained if they have legally changed their name to 'Remover'. It is inappropriate that this article nevertheless seems to treat it as a 'deadname' in that it doesn't say what their original (and possibly still legal) surname is. 62.73.72.3 (talk) 12:55, 20 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

heritage/ethnicity?

[edit]

jane is noted as turkish cypriot and polish on multiple sources including lastfm, but i don't know if these would be considered reliable. additionally, i know they have previously made statements on social media identifying themselves as middle eastern but i can't find these, if anyone can confirm please let me know Teluguwaifu (talk) 15:13, 14 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

stalker-ish thing to add. looking it up its theres no reliable source stating this, and if there is well its probably gonna need some more stalker-ish methods to find. probably means we should be leaving that out as i doubt they want the info to be so public, if its even true that is. Monsoone (talk) 14:47, 29 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
They mentioned their heritage on a live stream. I don’t know if the polish part is confirmed. She mentions her family too, at 1:18:00 https://youtube.com/KCN30xtnaG8?si=foy8iOVoX5lvwkKs Ilovetoedit2003 (talk) 12:49, 21 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
