Portuguese?

Portuguese in Brtish Calcuta? Are you sure? Don't you mean Indians from Portuguese India? That sounds more likely. I'm tagging it for a source or enlightment. The Ogre 16:08, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

It is Portuguese, not Indians from the Portuguese colonies. The citation is there at the end of the sentence and so I have removed the tag. The Portuguese came to Bengal before the English came and many of them stayed back. Please see Saptagram and Bandel Church for more information. - P.K.Niyogi 01:58, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
