Started article

[edit]

Started article with core info from the references given. However, there is more material there if anyone feels so inclined... Martinp (talk) 10:43, 14 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Have categorized this as "Canadian opera singers" as the closest Canadian musician category, but Jan Simons was as far as I know more of a lieder and oratorio soloist than operatic singer (though of course as a teacher, his students were active in many genres of vocal music). If anyone has a better cat, pls go ahead... Martinp (talk)

Stubbification and rebuild in April 2022, and missing information

[edit]

I first wrote this article in 2011 and it has seen modest editing by various editors since then. It was stubbified in April 2022 as 'unsourced' [], presumably since while the article had sources and all material presented came from them, in-line citations for individual sentences were not given. The editor in question apparently felt it was preferable to stubbify rather than fix or retain. It was then partially rebuilt a while later by a 3rd editor, with in-line citations []. However, the rebuild only used a subset of the previous sources, and so various information was dropped in the process. If anyone is interested, to read or to re-add to the article with the sourcing depth and style the community seems to prefer these days, see [] and for sourcing in particular the Rubin reference.
