I am James Twining, the subject of this article. I have disclosed my conflict of interest on my user page. I am not editing the article directly. I am requesting that a neutral editor review the following proposed changes, all of which are sourced to independent, published third-party sources. I have not added promotional language and am not disputing any existing content except where it is factually out of date. PROPOSED CHANGE 1 — Replace the career/business section in full The current career section ends with two sentences that are now approximately fifteen years out of date: "In 2009, Twining announced on his website that he was working on the fifth Tom Kirk novel. As of yet, there have been no further updates on this, and his website has not been updated since 2010." Both sentences are factually incorrect — the website is live and has been updated since 2010, and there is no fifth novel in progress. I propose these be removed and the entire career section be replaced with the following updated and expanded text. The two existing citations ([1] PR Newswire and [2] New Statesman) are retained. Proposed replacement text: Twining's early career was spent in the business world. His first job was in the Corporate Finance Department of SBC Warburg (now known as UBS), where he worked mainly on hostile bids and defences and leveraged buyouts. In 1999, he co-founded an e-procurement business, GroupTrade, backed by 3i, GE Capital and Telewest, raising over $22 million in equity funding. The business was sold in August 2002.[1] Twining and his co-founder were named as one of the eight "Best of Young British" entrepreneurs in The New Statesman.[2] After GroupTrade, Twining joined McKinsey & Company as an Associate Principal in its financial services and risk practices, where he co-led the firm's Risk Culture and Environmental Finance service lines.[3] From 2011, he served as a Main Board Director, member of the Group Executive Committee, and Group Commercial Director of JLT Group plc, one of the world's largest insurance brokers.
