Nickname's origin?

[edit]

This page doesn't bother to say what's the origin of the nickname "Sunny Jim". It really should IMO. --Lohoris (talk) 11:48, 11 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

New lead image

@Emiya1980 @PequodOnStationAtLZ @Materialscientist

Hello to you all,

I believe the lead image could be improved for this page. I've found a few alternatives, so I'm curious to hear what you all think of them. They are listed below:

Thanks for your help! Best, NewishIdeas (talk) 06:46, 9 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

I wouldn’t be opposed to updating the picture with a formal portrait, but these don’t seem much better than the current one as far as I can tell. The first is lit so poorly that correcting it would probably reduce the quality of the image too much, the fourth has his teeth sticking out slightly in a weird way, the fifth does not in fact show Rolph but SF mayor Angelo Rossi, and the sixth and eighth are taken too far away and at too harsh an angle to be an improvement.
That leaves 2, 3, and 7 which would make for good infobox portraits, I’m just not sure it would be a substantial improvement over what’s already there. Would these be a much higher resolution when cropped? PequodOnStationAtLZ (talk) 13:38, 9 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
