False Information and information to update + Biography

[edit]

Hi Wikipedia Editors, This article contains an exuberant amount of false information about the subject and was painted to intentionally politically persecute the subject.

  1. Accusations of doxxing - Federal agents are public servants and posting publicly available information on X about said public servants (ice agents) such as the location of a federal operation is not Doxxing. All information posted was related to the ICE agents (plural) official conduct. I realize that it says "Sparked accusations of doxxing" however that entire doxxing section should be removed.
  2. Police Scanner - While this is partially correct, the information was also gathered from sources. All ICE activity was gathered from "boots on the ground" sources. it physically could not have been gathered from a police scanner because federal police communications are entirely encrypted.
  3. Legal Scrutiny - Jack Quillin faced no legal scrutiny after posting said publicly available information. The criminal history is unrelated to the X account and was related to a stalking charge from 2024.
  4. About ICE in general - the LAScanner page was not originally started to post information about federal operations and was instead formed to post about public safety news in general (this includeds but is not limited to: Law Enforcement operations, ongoing criminal activity, firefighting operations, and other los Angeles news in general)
  5. "activist" - Jack Quillin is not under any circumstances an activist. no where on any of his social media accounts does it imply that he is an activist. instead, it clearly states that he is a Journalist (see @QuillinTV on X / Bio)
  6. "personal information about federal agents" - Never did Jack Quillin post or even have access to personal information about federal agents.
  7. LAScaner2 - This has no connection to Jack Quillin
  8. "unemployed" - Quillin is employed full-time by NightSunTV, LLC

Information to add:

  1. Quillin owns and operates NightSunTV, LLC - a news organization based in Harris County, Texas.
  2. LAScanner - the LAScanner account initially gained traction during the Palisades and Eaton Fires in Los Angeles County in early 2025. the account was founded in October of 2022 and deleted in December of 2025. https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2025-01-10/as-fires-grew-so-did-profiles-of-scanner-tw - Quillin shared life-saving updates about the rapidly developing wildfires in the region along with the information about ICE Raids in June 2025
  3. Jack Quillin as of January of 2026 - Quillin currently resides in Houston, Texas where he regularly posts News information via X (account: QuillinTV) and instagram (account: JackQuillinTV)
  4. Quillin was born on September 28th 2002.

In September 2021, he moved to Los Angeles, California, to attend Columbia College Hollywood. After the school shut down in 2022, Quillin transferred to the Los Angeles Film School, where he studied until 2023.

In 2022, Quillin and his business partners founded Traffic News Los Angeles, a Los Angeles based news stringer company. He departed the organization in 2023 and subsequently launched NightSunTV, a news organization that originated in Los Angeles and later relocated to Harris County, Texas.

@100JT After taking a step back, I agree with the removal of the contested section. However I would like to note a few thing.
  1. Your original edit was reverted because you removed an entire section stating "removed criminal history", and I stand by this revert. While yes, the sources were questionable, removing such a contentious section with practically no explanation is very frowned upon, especially when you are connected to the subject of the article. In a perfect world, I would have been able to thoroughly check the sources before reverting, however, this isn't a perfect world. It would be practically impossible for us Wikipedia:AntiVandals to thoroughly check through every highly suspicious edit, as we would simply be overwhelmed.
  2. My response on my talk page where I stated Once again, it was sourced, which means it is not defamation was poorly written. What I was trying to say is that defamation applies when the information is not true and harms an individual's reputation; however, the information in the article, from a legal standpoint (not from a Wikipedia standpoint) is sourced and defamation does not apply. But, I do also understand that you calling it defamation was less of a full claim, and more of a quickly thought out counterpoint.
  3. I was able to find some sources on an alleged arrest and criminal conviction, however there were not enough sources for me to comfortably add the information, but I think this is more so due to the lack of notability (no offense to you of course) of this subject. In fact, looking at the article history, there have clearly been issues with sourcing.
I hope this helps you understand my thought process and the reasoning behind everything. I, of course, don't want you to have a bad taste of Wikipedia left in your mouth. I definitely should have handled things better and I made some mistakes, so I apologize for that.
Hope this helped and I wish you well, LuniZunie(talk) 01:17, 4 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
