The title and text refer to Ebe as a schooner, but the image of her under sail does not support this. The Italian wikipedia uses 'Ebe (veliero)' as the title - veliero being the generic term akin to 'sailing ship'. In the Italian text she is described as a 'brigantino-goletta'. 'Goletta' has I think been mistranslated as schooner (the Italian word 'scuna' is used for what in English is termed schooner), and 'brigantino-goletta' more properly translates to Brigantine-Barquentine. Barquentines are sometimes termed 'schooner barque' which may also be where some of the confusion has come from. From the image of Ebe she has two masts, so cannot be a barquentine. Her foremast is square rigged so she is not a schooner. She fits the sail plan generally of a brigantine, specifically the 'schooner brig' rig of a brigantine, which may be another way the schooner term has crept in. Her foremast does seem to be higher than her main though. Of course her rigging may have been changed during her lifetime. However I think a different title is needed. Taking the existing format - Italian training ship Palinuro, Italian training ship Amerigo Vespucci, Soviet training ship Dunay, etc, I'd suggest Italian training ship Ebe. 82.39.49.182 (talk) 11:04, 6 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
