Look at the WJC article for the sources. This guys is a serious fraudster, yet this article reads like it was written by his PR firm. Threatening Austria with 6 years of pain? Invalid reference for a quote: The reference for Singer quote of "If Poland does not satisfy Jewish claims it will be publicly attacked and humiliated."[2]" points to the site "http://zaprasza.net/a_y.php?mid=21357". Hoax quotation

The quotation:

"more than three million Jews died in Poland and the Polish people are not going to be the heirs of the Polish Jews. We are never going to allow this.... They're gonna hear from us until Poland freezes over again. If Poland does not satisfy Jewish claims it will be publicly attacked and humiliated"

is most probably a hoax disseminated over the internet by Pogonowski. Not a single reliable web site gives it, but it spreads from Wikipedia to all sorts of extremist texts. Maitake (talk) 12:51, 6 February 2018 (UTC)

Quote, supposedly originating from Reuters's interview, was referenced in contemporary messages from April 1996 (for example: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!msg/soc.culture.jewish/n8Y3GlL-86E/mTjXD6aQn3AJ ). Therefore I find it unlikely to be Pogonowski's hoax. It is unfortunate that Reuters' archive from that period is not publicly available. Merdis (talk) 13:46, 12 February 2018 (UTC)

Career of Dr. Israel Singer

Dr. Israel Singer is a prominent Jewish organizational leader and policy expert who held senior positions in international Jewish institutions from the 1970s through the 2000s. He is most recognized for his leadership in Holocaust restitution, Jewish advocacy, and organizational diplomacy on behalf of global Jewry. Singer held key roles in the World Jewish Congress (WJC), the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany (Claims Conference), and several other major Jewish bodies.

World Jewish Congress (WJC)

Singer joined the World Jewish Congress in 1972 and rose to become one of its most senior officials. He served as Secretary General of the WJC from 1985 to 2001, then as Chairman of its Governing Board from 2001 to 2006, and later as Chairman of the WJC Policy Council. He worked closely with longtime WJC President Edgar Bronfman.

Under Singer’s leadership, the WJC became a leading force in international Jewish advocacy. Major initiatives included:

Leading efforts to recover Holocaust-era assets from European banks, especially in Switzerland. Playing a key role in the exposure of Austrian President Kurt Waldheim’s Nazi past. Singer’s tenure helped solidify the WJC’s reputation as a central institution in international Jewish affairs. He was frequently a lead negotiator in diplomatic missions, including talks with national governments and multinational institutions.

Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany (Claims Conference)

From 2002 to 2007, Singer served as President of the Claims Conference, which administers compensation and restitution for Holocaust survivors. During his presidency, the Claims Conference expanded its payment programs, negotiated new agreements with Germany and other countries, and distributed hundreds of millions of dollars in aid to survivors.

Singer was publicly praised for his leadership during this period. Officials credited him with helping secure financial relief for hundreds of thousands of Jewish victims of Nazi persecution and with strengthening Holocaust education initiatives. He chose not to seek reelection in 2007.

Holocaust Restitution and Global Advocacy

Singer played a central role in the global campaign to recover assets looted during the Holocaust and to secure compensation for victims. He was instrumental in negotiating settlements with Swiss, German, Austrian, and French institutions, contributing to the recovery of nearly $20 billion in restitution.
