Why Isalo II Formation?

[edit]

The literature consistently refers to this unit informally, as the "Isalo II beds" or simply "Isalo II". Isalo II is not a formation name, instead it is a common informal name for this strata (the second part of the Isalo Group). It has also been given the name "Makay Formation", which is less common but more formal. Why was this page renamed to "Isalo II Formation", when it is practically never referred to as such? I believe that same goes for Isalo III, though admittedly I have not researched that unit very closely. Fanboyphilosopher (talk) 23:08, 9 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Pinging Tisquesusa, who did the page move. Fanboyphilosopher (talk) 00:39, 13 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
I've moved the page back to Isalo II. If anyone disagrees with this, feel free to discuss it here. Fanboyphilosopher (talk) 17:25, 2 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
