The James David Hart reference says he served in the Confederate States Army while the Robert P. Swierenga reference says he served in the Union Army. I have checked Robert N. Rosen's The Jewish Confederates (Columbia, South Carolina: University of South Carolina Press, 2000), and he does not appear in the index.Zigzig20s (talk) 18:13, 8 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
