Iranian opposition → Iranian dissidents – The article talks about the opposition to the Islamic Republic as such and not to the particular governments, therefore, it is actually talking about dissidents rather than any kind of opposition. This is also evidenced by the selection of language - article frequently uses words such as "overthrow", focusing more on rejection of entire regime and political order of the country. Unlike article, Opposition to Vladimir Putin in Russia, where the "systemic opposition" is also mentioned, here there is no mention of anything like that at all. Namely, there is no mention of Iranian principalists and Iranian reformists, who have been changing each other in power and being in opposition to each other. Mostly Iranian reformists are in opposition and they should be a subject of this article too, but there is almost no mention of them at all, there is only one mention of one Iranian Reformist and only of his statement when he rejected the Constitution of Islamic Republic entirely. There is no talk about how Iranian political system and opposition within Iranian political system operates. Therefore, this article mainly focuses on dissidents, opposition to the political order and activities aimed at its overthrow. ~2026-25103-1 (talk) 17:35, 12 January 2026 (UTC)

- Oppose: Not necessary, since other pages (Belarusian opposition, Kazakh opposition, etc) are named as such and do not include cosmetic opposition. Also "dissidents" usually refer to the people involved specifically, while "opposition" is more generic and includes major movements, protests, declarations, etc. TeddyRoosevelt1912 (talk) 22:04, 14 January 2026 (UTC)

Reza Pahlavi as the "figurehead" of the iranian opposition.
[edit]The current source given for this claim is an opinion piece based solely on the amount of Farsi google searches that included Reza Pahlavi's name. This clearly does not meet Wikipedia's standard of evidence for such a claim, and therefore would need to either be better sourced or removed entirely.
Additionally, the writer of the opinion piece works for JISS, a think tank which advises the Israeli government on military policy. This is a clearly disqualifying conflict of interest to be speaking on the internal opposition of a country Israel is at war with. ~2026-34521-36 (talk) 05:37, 12 June 2026 (UTC)
