Map of Native American ancestries

[edit]

I think that, even though they are less than 1% of the state's population (actually 2% if including also mixed-race individuals with partially Native ancestry), including a map of Native American ancestries (which I added to the article) is relevant, because they were the original inhabitants of the land, and they have created much of the state's folklore. I think it might be better in a Demographics of Iowa article. It is good information but this article should be written in summary style. ✶Quxyz✶ (talk) 10:58, 9 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
Okay, I will add it in Demographics of Iowa (I didn't notice that such an article exists, some states have no "Demographics of..." articles).

It does not exist but the redirect was created not from a merger. To me, that means that there could reasonably be an article made over that redirect. ✶Quxyz✶ (talk) 11:07, 9 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
Also, this article is above what is recommended for splitting. ✶Quxyz✶ (talk) 11:11, 9 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
I agree that state articles should be a summary. Adding a map that shows the demographic breakdown of 0.28% of the population is undue, per MOS:IMAGERELEVANCE. --Magnolia677 (talk) 13:31, 9 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
Okay, as you suggested I wrote and added a brand new "Demographics of Iowa" article, link:
Draft:Demographics of Iowa
Please review when you have time and let me know if anything should be added to the article.
Also, I shortened the "Demographics" section of "Iowa" (I moved some content to the new article).

Area Rank

[edit]

I was looking at the area of New York and Iowa and had noticed both were listed at rank 27. Iowa should be listed as 26th. Anaveragehobo (talk) 10:40, 27 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Change Des Moines, Iowa in infobox to Des Moines so it can be referred to article that discuss/talk about it. ~2026-31635-30 (talk) 13:30, 28 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
