Motorway legality?

Where surviving old signs say, e.g. "no bicycles, mopeds, invalid carriages...", do they refer to this kind of vehicle, or specifically just the much slower, wheelchair-esque mobility scooters? Even the 150cc version and particularly the 500-600cc ones would have been fast enough to qualify for use on them, but there may be problems of stability and driver licensing... Conflicting timeline

The timeline is all over the place in the article. The first paragraph says that the car "is" distributed for free – so it's still being distributed? Or "was" distributed? The first paragraph of the History section says that they were given free until 1970. Then the second paragraph says that the last government contract ended in 1977. So what were they used for during those 7 years? Then the third paragraph says that they were recalled in 2003. Does that mean the vehicles from the 70s? And then the last paragraph says that they went into decline in "late 1970s" – so they went into decline years after they were no longer being given out? It doesn't. It says (albeit quite awkwardly) that it is a car then "and distributed for free" as a subsidiary clause. It is a car. Per regular WP style, if any still exist (they do) then it still is, rather than was, a car. The subsidiary clause has a different time scope, but this wasn't obvious.

Again, it doesn't. It says "1970s", which went on past 1970, and is accurate. For 25 years the existing Invacars continued. Then they were all recalled and destroyed (exceptions exist, but are rare). Andy Dingley (talk) 22:29, 13 February 2025 (UTC)
