[edit]I'm pretty sceptical of the claim made that "Gerhard Küntscher is credited with the first use of this device in 1939". Reference [2] talks about earlier use of the device, albeit in a slightly different form. Danielt998 (talk) 00:05, 20 February 2023 (UTC)
- Agreed. The understanding of the biocompatibility of the metals used in surgery was just in its infancy at this time, and a lot of experimentation was being done with unpredictable results. Henrilebec (talk) 03:53, 22 April 2025 (UTC)
