I-69

Does anyone know how to update I-69 on the map to include the new portions of it in Indiana and Kentucky? Like the portion of it from Bloomington to Indianapolis, as well the Purchase Parkway in Kentucky South of Mayfield. NintendoTTTEfan2005 (talk) 05:07, 2 February 2025 (UTC)

Request to add reference in Financing section

Redundant sections?

Not sure if this is intentional, but this article has a "Mile markers and exit numbers" section and an additional "Exit numbering" section. Would it be better to combine them into one? There is overlap between them, although I know that's typical for large articles like this one. NanoSmug (talk) 05:25, 29 March 2026 (UTC)

Whether this content remains in one section or two, there is a need for some cleanup. These two sections have long been vulnerable to fancruft and similar issues, and like most articles that have such sections, they need to be pruned from time to time. Dave (talk) 05:34, 29 March 2026 (UTC)

Well that was easy enough — I simply removed all the material that lacked citations, in some cases for more than fifteen years (!). The template from 2011 begging for more citations clearly wasn't doing any good. Definitely agree that that this has attracted a lot of fancruft. Einsof (talk) 19:38, 29 March 2026 (UTC)

@The Grid: when unsourced material is removed, you are required by Wikipedia policy not to restore it unless you provide inline citations sourcing that material. WP:V states this quite clearly: Facts or claims without an inline citation to a reliable source that directly supports them may be removed. They should not be restored without an inline citation to a reliable source, and The burden to demonstrate verifiability lies with the editor who adds or restores material. I didn't know there was a discussion, you could have also stated that as part of your removal. Did you even check to see when the more citations template was added in 2011 for context? Also, I literally stated the source in the comment (MUTCD Section 2E.31 for the 2009 edition) but seeing as it was redundant information that's already present in the article...did you even check? – The Grid (talk) 22:04, 29 March 2026 (UTC)

It is more than sufficient that I pointed to the specific section of the verifiability policy that spells out the precise conditions for reinserting the material. Needless to say, waving at a map in an edit summary is not sufficient to meet the requirements. I will continue to remove this material if, in violation of policy, it is reinserted without inline citations to reliable sources. Einsof (talk) 22:21, 29 March 2026 (UTC)

Heaviest Volume Highway

It seems that the data saying the I-405 is the highest traffic highway is a bit out of date now, and this is indeed contradicted by source 103 which says the I-75 in Georgia is now the highest traffic highway.

In a word, Yes. There are a few problems with this section, but efforts to clean them up have proven futile. This is one of those sections that the public seems to insist exists and has their favorite point included. I've given up. However, if you want to clean up this section, another problems is, the claim of lowest elevation being in the Ft. McHenry tunnel is both suspect and likely a circular reference. The source used appears to reference an older version of the Wikipedia article for its source. I've removed it a couple of times but it keeps coming back. ;) Dave (talk) 22:49, 9 July 2026 (UTC)

It's a Wikipedia wide issue, for example UTA TRAX is also affected. It appears someone messed up a template that is used in thousands of articles and nobody's found which one yet. Dave (talk) 23:01, 24 July 2026 (UTC)
