GA review (see here for what the criteria are, and here for what they are not)
  1. It is reasonably well written.
a (prose, spelling, grammar, and understandability): b (MoS for lead, layout, word choice, fiction, lists, and tables):
No blocking issues after I updated the categories and a few mislinks. This is a well-written article!
  2. It is factually accurate and verifiable, as shown by a source spot-check.
a (reference section): b (inline citations to reliable sources): c (OR): d (copyvio and plagiarism):
Can the Carpenter citation be refined to an actual page or page range instead of the "111, 200, 266 and throughout"?
The Carpenter ref is to three pages (not unusual); since Tolkien's Middle-earth writings took up much of his working life, Carpenter's book alludes to them frequently throughout, as indicated.
Also, the two publication history citations seem to be citing the wrong book (how is a 2001 book supporting a claim about a 2005 book?).
    Just a date glitch, fixed.
  3. It is broad in its coverage.
    a (major aspects): b (focused):
The coverage is generally quite good but the synopsis section is lopsided towards the first and third parts of the book, with the second part getting only a single sentence without any additional commentary. Are you able to equalize this, or is it just not as in-depth as the other two parts?
The first part is four chapters, the second one chapter, the third two chapters, so the summary reflects that.
Also, is there a specific reason why Stegan and Caldecott are described as "Christian" and "Catholic" respectively?
Caldecott is well-known as a specifically Catholic scholar. Stegan is an Evangelical Christian; we can add "Evangelical" to his gloss if you like but I don't really think it necessary.
  4. It follows the neutral point of view policy.
    Fair representation without bias:
  5. It is stable.
    No edit wars, etc.:
  6. It is illustrated by images and other media, where possible and appropriate.
a (images are tagged and non-free content have non-free use rationales): b (appropriate use with suitable captions and alt text):
  7. Overall:
    Pass/Fail:
This article is well-done, with only a few small notes and fixes before I believe it'll be ready to pass! ThadeusOfNazereth(he/him)Talk to Me! 19:38, 3 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
