ILO

[edit]

I contacted the ILO about using this classification structure on Wikipedia. I thought it could be useful, as a recognized category structure. They were very helpful, and granted me

"(hereinafter called the Licensee) a non-exclusive, non-transferable worldwide licence to: reproduce the structure and framework of the ILO International Standard Classification of Occupations (ISCO-88) for use in the online free encyclopaedia Wikipedia (www.wikipedia.com), accessible by the general public (hereinafter called the end-users):"

However, one of the conditions of the licence was that:

The rights are granted on the understanding that any republication by the end-users, in whatever form, without the written consent by the ILO, is prohibited; the Licensee undertakes to so inform its end-users;

Although there were other restrictions, I think this one may preclude using the structure at all. I will follow this up over at the copyright issue pages. --Bookandcoffee 23:13, 19 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

2008 revision

[edit]

I am updating the page to take into account the new 2008 revision.Guptan99 (talk) 12:46, 29 March 2011 (UTC) Removed an occupational group that was "added" here, but not part of the official ILO classification. Guptan99 (talk) 18:00, 18 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Possible AI use

[edit]

Concerns were raised previously via tag about AI-generated content in this article, which is prohibited per WP:NEWLLM. This is a procedural talk page section to discuss it. There is no need to ping me in response. Read WP:AISIGNS for more information for why this is tagged; however, note that fixing the issue requires more than just removing the superficial signs.

Rationale: 2025 rewrites such as this and others by this user; note WP:AISIGNS in superficial analyses, vocab distribution typical of 2025 LLMs, etc Gnomingstuff (talk) 03:04, 22 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
