Dates to the table?

It's hard to find participant numbers for the ICM, one webpage says 'more than 3000 participants' for the ICM2018 in Korea. But the yearly JMM (joint mathematics meeting) in the US has around 6000 participants. Does anyone have more precise numbers? ICM 2022 status
[edit]Several national organizations, most notably the US AMS, have called for ICM 2022 to be cancelled.

Vancouver/Victoria/Toronto Congresses garbled?
[edit]There seem to be two Congresses mentioned here, in Canada, mismashed together. Toronto is about 3000 km (a several day train trip each way from Vancouver) and Victoria very close to Vancouver. No references, I am surmising there was a Congress in Toronto, then some years different one in Vancouver/Victoria area; all unclear. Someone in the know needs to fix this incomplete misunderstanding. Dr.gregory.retzlaff (talk) 19:20, 8 August 2026 (UTC)
- Garbled? No! Just two, fifty years apart: Toronto 1924, Vancouver 1974, Victoria never. The only irregularity is the Flag of Canada used in 1924 differs from the one of 1974, as explained in the Flag of Canada article. — Rgdboer (talk) 22:41, 8 August 2026 (UTC)
- The article originally said (almost a direct quote) "there was a congress in Toronto in 1924 featuring a train trip to Vancouver and a trip to Victoria". Toronto and Vancouver are about 3000 km apart, about a 3 day train trip one way -> not correct or possible. It does not mention 2 congresses, just the one in Toronto with an impossible journey. Again, it does not mention 2 congresses with an impossible interconference trip. You can leave it out like I did, or you can find references, write it out correctly as 2 conferences, and rational, and put it in. - From Proceedings @ mathunion.org: "On the night of August 17 a number of members of the Congress left Toronto on a transcontinental excursion to Vancouver and Victoria, which had been arranged through the courtesy of the Canadian National and the Canadian Pacific Railways for overseas members of the Congress and of the British Association for the Advancement of Science, whose Sessions, held also in the buildings of the University of Toronto, had in part coincided with those of the Congress.
