Pea galaxy

Very important omission.
[edit]It is now commonly accepted that NGC 5128 is a merger between two galaxies, a spiral and an elliptical. This galaxy is far brighter, larger, and frankly more interesting to observe than all of the other examples provided. Old_Wombat (talk) 08:57, 13 October 2011 (UTC)

Unverified notes concerning the "phases" of galactic collision
[edit]The "Notable Examples" section makes reference to the first/second/third phase of galactic collision, but there's no sources to back it up and I'm having trouble finding potential sources online. According to the revision history, these notes have been part of the article for just about as long as the article has existed, dating back to March of 2006 , but no relevant sources have been added to back it up in nearly 20 years. Should these notes just be removed due to having gone unverified for so long? NoOneFliesAroundTheSun (talk) 22:13, 6 October 2025 (UTC)
