Magnification

Protist
[edit]"Protista" is obsolete as a kingdom. Newer phylogeny instead breaks the former group of "protists" into over 40 clades, and all they have in common is that they are neither animals, nor plants, nor fungi. The crustaceans and the "small invertebrates" did remain animals, the rest of the clades did not: ciliates are Alveolata, algae are a very polyphyletic informal group with members mostly from Diaphoretickes (Euglenozoa is from Discoba, assumed to be its sister group in Diphoda).
