Additional complexes

[edit]

These are from the main industrial complex page;

Several of them have sources attached, some may merit their own articles, others may merit inclusion as sub-sections of other x-industrial complex articles. fyi - wolf 06:43, 10 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for listing these. Individual articles can be created for each of these once we find reliable sources for these. And are not "pharmacological–industrial complex" and the "pharmaceutical–industrial complex" one and the same? Not sure. Rasnaboy (talk) 07:00, 10 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
They're certainly similar, but not the same. "Pharmacological" is basically about the effect of drugs on a person, while "pharmaceutical" is the about the companies that manufacture and market drugs. I believe the -industial complex of the former is about the effects of drugs on their target consumer base, and the control of that base, while the -industrial complex of the latter is about the ties between the military and 'big pharma', via lobbying in DC, for gov't contracts to supply prescription drugs to the military, and large grants for research and drug trials. This is jmho, I don't have refs to support it, I'm just trying to show how there could be a plausible distinction between the two. - \\'cԼF 18:18, 4 March 2025 (UTC)Reply
